Grassy Sunrise Mountaintop Engagement in Scottsdale, AZ

These two woke up early for their sunrise mountaintop engagement pictures! This grassy viewpoint feels like a hidden gem in the Phoenix Valley!

Overlooking Horseshoe Reservoir and Bartlett Lake, this lookout is NorthEast of the Phoenix Valley. By Cave Creek and Camp Creek, a long road (sometimes dirt, sometimes paved, but overall it looks better every time I go) leads to Humbodlt Mountain Lookout. There used to be an old hang gliding ramp here, but it’s been torn down due to safety.

This spot may be tough to get to, but it’s worth it! Because of the way the sun rises in the back, this spot only works at sunrise. After meeting in North Scottsdale to carpool, it’s about an hour drive to get there. It’s a popular spot for teens to watch the sunrise, so I try to avoid holiday weekends and aim for weekdays. It’s a small little area, so keep  in mind we may need to share with the local teens.  This spot may be tough to get to, but it’s worth it!
